Cocktails For Tea Lovers Starter Recipes

One of the easiest ways to infuse tea into cocktails are to create a tea-based simple syrup.
Black Tea Simple Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons loose black tea (we use Assam)
Pour water into a small pot and set the stove on High.
Add sugar and stir as water heats up. Once sugar has fully dissolved, you have a basic simple syrup.
When water reaches boiling, turn off the stove and add the tea.
Allow tea to steep for 5 min*.
Strain and refrigerate.
*The tea can be steeped longer if you prefer. It will result in a darker syrup that will be more tea forward.
Notes
This can be done with different types of tea to create different syrups. We have utilized this recipe with different types of green teas, hibiscus, and other tisanes.
Assam 75
1 oz Black Tea Simple Syrup
1 oz Gin (we use Beefeater because it is less botanical)
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
4 oz Sparkling Wine
Lemon twist (for garnish)
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add simple syrup, gin, and lemon juice.
Shake, strain, and pour into a champagne glass.
Top off with sparkling wine and a lemon twist.
Enjoy!
